Young Astro posts a portrait every once

Taking a more conceptual and reductive approach, I aim to push the notion of a traditional portrait painting by deliberately stripping away the figure, gender, race. By stripping away these signifiers we now have name and color in the equation. The role of a name and color give us more room to interpret a portrait. Once a name has been bestowed upon a portrait, it cannot be unnamed. On the other hand, imbuing the colors of the body or flesh to a portrait immediately gives context to the painting as color comes before meaning. This intricate relationship between a name and colour give birth to a new way of painting a portrait.
